Bertie · 24:36S1 E5 · Making Tough Decisions
I'm a big believer in taking ownership of all problems. So even if it's not something that's my fault, I will try and find a way to make it my fault because that then gives me the control to be able to deal with it.

Bertie · 39:21S1 E7 · Debunking Business Clichés
It's just one of those management terms that we need to think outside the box more team. Okay. What box are we thinking in? What's the problem? We just think outside the box. Let's have a bit of blue sky thinking. Oh, fuck off. Like you've got no fucking ideas for one. And now you're telling me to think outside the box. You don't even know what the fucking box is. All right. So, yeah. Sorry. Okay. Calm down. Yeah.

And the analogy that I loved was that if you booked a restaurant and there's five people booking a restaurant, oh, should we go to this restaurant? It looks amazing. I've looked at the reviews. Should we go there on Sunday? Yeah, fantastic. Brilliant. Decision made. That's the plan. That's the plan. We're going with that plan. Then on Friday, you actually find out that this restaurant only serves actual human shit. Do you still go to that restaurant or based on the new data, based on the new data, can you change your mind? Or do you just turn up on Sunday and eat shit?

Paul · 32:58S1 E12 · Making Mistakes
When the live one came through, he doctored the file. So my, my name came through as wanker. So I opened this, so I pressed send on this hundred thousand thing that I have hated and I've kept awake. The first thing I see is an email that goes ping, dear wanker. And I'm like, I'm like full on bricking, full on bricking. And then, then he kind of admits it because I think like all color drained. And I have this, these two or three minutes of, oh, thank God that's over. And suddenly ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping. And I was like, fuck.

Bertie · 9:26S1 E12 · Making Mistakes
School is an absolute swine for this, like not embracing failure and not testing things. It's very prescribed, isn't it? You will do this. You won't question it. This is how you learn. This is how you revise for an exam. And if you don't fit into that box, well, you're fucked, basically.

Paul · 26:28S2 E12 · Choosing Integrity Over Profit
And, actually, I think, you know, you just, I don't like making mistakes, which is weird considering how often I make them.

You know, you'll have someone pitching something. And you've got 10 other executives in the room. And I'm the one that's asking the questions. And, you know, they are getting answered. I guarantee you, you know, that the person presented leaves. And then it's all just does again. It's like, I'm so glad you asked that. I had no fucking idea what they were talking about. Not a fucking clue. I didn't want to ask. Did you want to ask? No, I didn't know. Thank you.

Bertie · 3:03S3 E3 · Let It Go: You Can't Do It All Yourself
Did the whole thing, start engine. And it did. But the fucking fuckwit that I am, I'd left it in gear. So, the car then drove forward, pinning me, pinning me to the front of the pub. So, the doorman there were then trying to push the car back, open the car doors, but it's still locked. Doorman from the other pub come running over. I still have, I still have a dent in my leg from where I was pinned.
